GMX Ultra-Shield Installation

Our Greenville exterior waterproofing team at Regional Foundation & Crawl Space Repair adheres to GMX installation procedures, as outlined below. This ensures your property will qualify for the warranty.

Our experts ensure that foundation walls and footings are dry and strong before applying Ultra-Shield. We avoid applying the membrane to standing water and wait for concrete or mortar to cure for 16 hours before application.
We remove debris and excess mortar from foundation walls and footings and repair cracks or honeycombed concrete with non-shrinking grout. Minor voids are filled with solvent-based asphalt mastic.
Ultra-Shield is then spray-applied at a rate of 20-25 sq. ft. per gallon, with more applied on unparged block surfaces. We do not apply the membrane below 20°F, and heat it to 120-160°F before application.
Any uncovered areas are touched up with a coat of Ultra-Shield, brushing out excess to a thickness of ⅛ inch.
Within one to three hours, we install a board for drainage, insulation, or protection and press it firmly into place.
Finally, we install drain tile according to the manufacturer’s requirements and grade backfill to direct surface water away from exterior foundation walls.
